SOUTHERN JUNCTION CHAMPIONSHIPS: A GREAT DAY FOR OUR DANCERS.

The Southern Junction Championships of 2009 was once again hosted by the Southern Junction Dancers and was a great way for many of our dancers to get the first ACHF Competition under their belt before traveling to Maggie Valley for the competition in Early May.  Mrs. Davis and her dancers are to be commended for doing a superb job of organizing and hosting a wonderful competition. Thank you.

Ou teams were very successful in the days competitions with everyone placing in the top of their categories.  This will have most teams qualified for the ACHF World Championships in Maggie Valley in October.  The high scoring team of the day for BRMC was the audience favorite Show team routine to the Beverly Hillbillies.  This fast paced story has simply amazed everyone with the high energy dancing and the story of Jed Clampett and his family.  Good Job everyone.

The debut of Jocassee Storm was everything and more that we had hoped it would be.  This team just seems to have a chemistry that you just know has that extra fire and drive to make a great team.  Their Routine to "Bombshell Stomp" was high energy and had the whole auditorium shaking.  Imagine what the stage was doing.  The dancers hard work was rewarded as they placed first in the elementary division of Traditional Line and was named as Grand Champion Elementary Team.

Little Mountain Wildfire continued with their winning ways with their hoedown.  After winning the Pee Wee Division of 4 or more Couple Hoedown, they went on to claim Grand Champion Pee Wee Team honors.  Also claiming First place honors in the Hoedown Category was Shady Grove and Mountain Edition.

Shady Grove hoedown - First place Junior Hoedown and 3rd high scoring BRMC Team Little Mountain Wildfire - continues its winning tradition in the Hoedown category by winning their age division and going on to be named as Champion Pee-Wee team.

The dancers of BRMC also had a great day and represented us well in Short Duo, Traditional Duo and Buck & Wing Duet at this competition as well.

Tiffany & Sidney as well as Abbey and Callie placed in the top 3 of their divisions of short duo/duet.  Both couples did a very good job representing us.

Abbey and Callie were the first place winners of the Pee Wee division of Traditional Duos.  While Allison and Joey won first place in the Elementary division of Buck & Wing traditional duet.

Good job to all of our dancing duets and duos for your devotion and hard work in this.  It takes a lot of work and practice in this division.
